USFL Announces All 8 Coaches For Football Teams

The United States Football League (USFL) has eight teams raring to go for their upcoming 2022 season kickoff on April 16, 2022. The league had announced their teams with hopes of expansion and now they have announced the head coaches for their teams.

The AL reports that the coaches lined are up. This will allow the USFL is to launch with a full slate of teams with a  38-man active roster and a 7-man practice squad.

From the South Division, the Houston Gamblers (Houston, Texas) will be coached by Kevin Sumlin who was previously at the University of Arizona from 2018 to 2020. The Birmingham Stallions (Birmingham, Alabama) will have Skip Holtz take over after his stint at the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The New Orleans Breakers (New Orleans, Louisiana) will be taken over by Larry Fedora, former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Baylor University. The Tampa Bay Bandits (Tampa Bay, Florida) have nabbed Todd Haley the former offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns.

As for the North Division, the Pittsburgh Maulers (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) hired Kirby Wilson as the general manager after a brief retirement in 2021 from the Raiders. The New Jersey Generals (New Jersey) recruited Mike Riley formerly of the XFL team Seattle Dragons. The Philadelphia Stars (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) have Bart Andrus who previously worked with the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The Michigan Panthers (Michigan) will be coached by Jeff Fisher, former head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.

The games will be played at Protective Stadium and Legion Field with the former hosting their premier game between the Birmingham Stallions and the New Jersey Generals. The game will be broadcasted on NBC and Fox.
