Comic Book Journo Website Multiversity Announces Shut Down

Well, true believers, it’s the end of an era. The comic book news and review website Multiversity is closing down after fifteen years. Known for its podcasts, reviews, and columns, the staff announced in a heartfelt post that they are closing shop.

“After 15 years, this will be the final month that Multiversity Comics will be in active operations. This decision was not made lightly, and has been a result of months of conversations with our editorial team,” the statement said.

Three reasons are given for the upcoming closure. According to the statement, the team cited their shrinking staff, higher costs, and, finally, exhaustion by the team.

“Instead of everyone keeping up a good face, it seemed like the right time to pull the plug before we were even more depleted,” the statement continued.

The staff will continue to work through the end of May and the website will remain up throughout September before it finally fades away on the Internet Archive.

The article concludes by thanking the editorial staff, writers, and guest collaborators. The post lists several names of various people who have contributed to the website over the years, praising them for their work on the website. They concluded by thanking the readers.

“Thanks for reading for the past 15 years. We’ll be here all month, and then we’ll see you around the interwebs,” the statement concludes.

Editor’s note: We would like to wish the Multiversity staff good fortune as they head into new endeavors.
