Katy Nichole And Naomi Raine: “My God Can” Music Review

Katy Nichole partners with Maverick City Music member Naomi Raine for the song “My God Can.” The lyrics take inspiration from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength (NIV.)”

Nichole co-wrote the song with The Afters’ Josh Havens and it does a good job of telling you how God can step in. The lyrics are very compassionate and you can tell that Nichole pours her soul into the message of the song and it is wonderful.

Raine and Nichole work so well together. Their voices make a duet that is so pleasant and they combine to bring a performance you will not want to forget.

I also want to say how much I loved the music video. It is not something flashy and it does not try to force-feed you a story. Instead, Nichole and Raine are singing in a church, leading congregants in a worship set. I found that humble setting added to the vibe of the song and brought it all together.

Katy Nichole told The Fish Sacramento, “I know firsthand what it means to be broken and desperate. However, I have also experienced the beauty and wonder of God redeeming and breathing life into situations that seemed utterly hopeless. I want my music to speak truth and shine a light for those going through dark times.”
