Comedian, singer, and podcast host Chad Prather co-wrote and performed his latest single “Famous Again,” released by Baste Records. The song had a Good Friday debut which matches perfectly with the vibe of the song.
With excellent lyrical prose, Prather sings about how Christ used to be the center of our culture and how He is a good role model, but political correctness has tried to stamp out biblical principles from society. It is not overly preachy, but the message is clear: “Jesus needs to be famous again.” Prather makes a good point with what he is saying, or rather singing, and there is no denying it.
The lyrics are well-written and have a nostalgic feeling to them. In fact, I would say that is what makes the song so memorable. It has that all-too-rare sound that country music used to be known for. There is no pop or bubble gum to it, just straight American twang that you can sing along to.
Check out the lyric video below:
Chad Prather described the song in an interview with the American Beat, “‘Famous Again’ gets us back to several key values that I think we’ve lost. One is faith and another is real country music. We see how society is slipping, and music seems to be slipping with it. This song is a great formula for getting those important things back.”
