‘Hubris: The Texas Kingmakers’ Documentary Review

Political news organization Texas Scorecard brings us the new documentary film Hubris: The Texas Kingmakers. It is hosted by Michael Quinn Sullivan and streamed on YouTube for free.

Texans for Lawsuit Reform is a political organization that was made to bring lawsuit reform to the Lone Star State. Despite winning their cause, they did not simply go away. TLR systematically allied with Democrats to target Republicans, despite having a “business-friendly” position. Many have suggested that they are behind several primary challenges and even the failed impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The documentary felt like a television news channel special. Nothing wrong with that, considering that Texas Scorecard does news and commentary, but just a note on the production values which were otherwise good.

Sullivan is an excellent host as he guides us through several interviews, shows us reports, and explains the situation at hand. Texas Scorecard does an excellent job informing the viewers of what is going on and providing the necessary information.

It definitely paints a picture of the kind of money that is at hand with these organizations. They must come to light as they do not just affect Texas, their machinations are all over the country. They are affecting cities, counties, parishes, and states, but most citizens have no idea what they are doing. It is time to learn their plans.
