Sledge X: “It’s Only Money” (Thin Lizzy Cover) Music Review

Bronze Serpent Media released a new Sledge X production “It’s Only Money,” a cover of the Thin Lizzy song. Alfonzo “Zo” Rachel jams it up with the vocals, guitars, and drums.

I do not know how Zo picks the song he covers, but he always chooses something to pump your fist. I had not heard “It’s Only Money” before this release, so I listened to the original and then listened to this cover. The original is a banger as well and I definitely see why it was chosen. The song definitely speaks about standing up for yourself and not being so serious. I found that kind of message in a song pretty cool.

Zo’s signature sound pays homage to the original with his driving strings and beats. Thin Lizzy’s version is more of a pop rock song, but here, we get a hard-rock version that splashes in a good way. He nails it and once again proves that he is the perfect playlist to put on while you’re working out, going for a walk, or if you just need to jam.

Thin Lizzy released “It’s Only Money” on their 1974 album ‘Nightlife.’ They later re-released it as a single in 1975. It is written by lead singer Phil Lynott and guitarist Scott Gorham, who had only recently joined the band at the time.
