‘Spice And Wolf: Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf’ Has An English Dub From Crunchyroll

The anime reboot Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf is a new series from the Japanese animation studio Passione. It has arrived in the United States via the Crunchyroll streaming service. The show is based on the manga Spice & Wolf written by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Jū Ayakura which ran from 2007 to 2017.

Crunchyroll has announced that they are producing an English dub as well as the cast.

Brina Palencia (One Piece) will take on the role of Holo while J. Michael Tatum (My Hero Academia) will voice Lawrence.

The announcement included:

  • Yarei voiced by Austin Tindle
  • Myuri voiced by Emi Lo
  • Village Chief voiced by Doug Jackson
  • Additional voices: Daniel Van Thomas, Charles Nguyen, Ben Stegmair

Michelle Rojas has been tasked with being the voice director for the dubbed version with Samantha Herek joining as the producer. Matthew Greenbaum has been tapped to handle adapting the scripts.

Set in a fantasy world, the story follows a merchant named Kraft Lawrence after he meets a fox spirit named Holo who takes on a human form. They form an unlikely duo who travel about and soon a romance blossoms. Beginning life as a light novel series, it became one of the fastest and best-selling manga in Japan published by ASCII Media Works.

It was previously adapted in 2008 by the film studio Imagin.
