Sledge X: Metallica’s “The Thing That Should Not Be” Cover Music Review

My man Alfonzo Rachel brings us his latest Sledge X cover. This time, he delivers his rendition of “The Thing That Should Not Be” from Metallica.

Released by his Bronze Serpent Media imprint, Zo collaborates with vocalist Mark Wilson of ShadowAxe Band and guitarist Scott D. Taylor. They combine excellently to create this fantastic cover of this Metallic song.

Zo does such a good job with the composition. He plays bass, drums, guitar, and more to create a righteous sound for this song. Wilson sings the lyrics with ease, adding a methodical tone to the vibe. Taylor drops an unforgettable guitar solo. With these three factors, they bring this cover to life and makes it a jam you do not want to miss.

The music video is pretty cool too. It was a throwback to the nineties with its side-by-side camera angles and its focus on the instruments. You are going to enjoy it right along with the song.

Check out the music video:

Metallica members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett wrote the song and released it on their 1986 album Master Of Puppets. Several members of the band were fans of sci-fi writer H.P. Lovecraft and based this song on his 1936 short story “The Shadow Over Innsmouth.”

The song was featured on their 1999 live album.
