Top 10 Favorite Songs From The Rocky Franchise

Sylvester Stallone stole the hearts of audiences everywhere when he portrayed boxing underdog-turned-champion Rocky Balboa. It was not just the story that won over viewers, but also the incredible music that is featured. While all six films contain Bill Conti’s iconic theme song, each soundtrack had some unique tracks to it.

Here are my Top 10 Favorite Songs From The Rocky Franchise:

“Still Here” (Natasha Bedingfield)

This was originally going to be the theme song for the sixth film Rocky Balboa. It was cut from the soundtrack so Bedingfield released it on her album ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ though it was included on the UK soundtrack release.

“Can’t Stop the Fire” (Bill Conti)

Rocky V may not have been as well received as previous entries, but this song definitely lit up the soundtrack.

“Take You Back” (Frank Stallone)

Written and performed by Stallone’s younger brother, this song was very popular having appeared on several of the films’ scores.

“Redemption” (Bill Conti)

The theme from Rocky II reminds us of what makes these boxing movies so incredible.

“Burning Heart” (Survivor)

Balboa faces the fight of his life and this song gives us a reminder of what sets the heart ablaze.

“All Of My Life” (Bill Conti)

It is time for a rematch. Apollo Creed, played brilliantly by Carl Weathers, challenges Rocky and it leads to something explosive.

“No Easy Way Out” (Tepper)

After his friend dies in the ring, Rocky decides to face off against his killer, the giant Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren.

“Gonna Fly Now” (Bill Conti)

With trumpets blaring, a champion is born. This theme song was featured on every single soundtrack in the cinematic franchise. It is perfection.

Eye Of The Tiger (Survivor)

Rocky faces off against Clubber Lang, performed by Mr. T, who is mean and cruel in the ring, but an unlikely ally arrives.
