10 Movies To Watch On Independence Day 2023

Welcome to America’s birthday! On July 4th, 1776, the world heard about the Declaration of Independence. It is a time to relax and celebrate the formation of the greatest country in the whole wide world. If you would like to binge some films that encapsulates the American Spirit, have I got some suggestions for you!

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi – Michael Bay brings to life the story of terrorists assaulting the United States embassy in Benghazi, Libya in 2012 and the men sent to save it. This movie is a sobering look at how politics can get in the way of doing the right thing.

Chisum – John Wayne portrays cattleman John Chisum in a fictionalized story of the American’s life and how he managed a big piece of New Mexico.

The Great Debaters – Denzel Washington portrays real-life debate coach Melvin B. Tolson who leads a debate team at Wiley College to take on reigning champion Harvard University.

Invasion USA – Chuck Norris co-wrote and stars in this film about a terror group staging an invasion in Florida. It is up to him to stop them.

My Fellow Americans – This comedy shows two former US Presidents working together to unravel a conspiracy. Jack Lemmon, James Garner, and Dan Akroyd all pull out great performances.

Kelly’s Heroes – Clint Eastwood leads a dynamite cast as a soldier who learns of some hidden gold deep behind enemy territory during World War 2.

Mr. Smith Goes To Washington – Jimmy Stewart portrays Jefferson Smith, a local outdoorsman who is thrust into becoming a senator and later framed in a conspiracy.

The Fugitive – A remake of a popular TV show, Harrison Ford portrays a doctor who is framed for the murder of his wife and goes on the wrong. However, a group of US Marshals are after him.

G.I. JOE Retaliation – Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, and Adrianne Palicki lead the JOEs in their battle against the villainous known as Cobra.

We Are Marshall – When most of their football players are killed in a plane crash, Marshall University decides to rebuild their team, but it soon becomes an uphill battle.
