You can watch the announcement below:

Those of us who hate the fact that corporate overlords have overtaken our favorite characters and stories can and should talk about it. BUT we must also offer good alternatives. That is where I am at. It is time to start our own pieces of pop culture. New legends must be born. New heroes must be forged. New journeys must be taken and new villains must rise.

We can do it. Write the novel. Record that song. Paint that picture. Film that script. Design that game. Whatever the case may be, it is time for us independent creators to rise up and build a new culture. It is possible. Yes, we will face mockery, betrayal, and even failure, but we can persevere.

As Winston Churchill once said, “Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

This is our time.
