John Wick star Keanu Reeves works with writer Matt Kindt to bring us the eleventh issue of BRZRKR from Boom Studios. Artists Ron Garney and Bill Crabtree return for this penultimate issue.
The Berserker has been caught up in a cosmic energy wave that consumes him and the scientist Diana, who seems to now be able to withstand the blast. Not missing a moment, the government agent Caldwell gets into a device that allows him to channel the energy, prompting the army to respond. However, it seems they may be too late as immortals prepare clash.
I want to praise the cover for this issue, done by Garney and Crabtree. I loved it so much that I picked up a glossy version from my local comic book store. They do an amazing job of capturing the ferocity of the Berserker as well as the incredible destruction that is shown within the plot.
As for the story, it was short, but sweet. It mainly focused on the Berserker getting consumed by the strange energy that gave him his powers and Caldwell’s desire to possess it. It is a good set-up for an epic finally that I cannot wait to get a hold of. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for it until March 2023, but Boom Studios is promising a giant sized finale and I am here for it. Reeves and Kindt have brought one epic series and while I am sad it is coming to an end, I am excited to see the conclusion.
