Bravery. It is hard to come by these days. Often, it is mistaken as the absence of fear, but it is actually doing the right thing while being afraid. As a Christian, I often turn to the Bible to help me find inspiration when I do not feel brave.

In no particular order, here are 10 Scriptures On Courage:

Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!” Matthew 14:27 (TPT)

“I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.” John 16:33 (NCV)

Remember this and be brave; take it to heart, you transgressors! Isaiah 46:8 (CSB)

And please pray for me. Pray that truth will be with me before I even open my mouth. Ask the Spirit to guide me while I boldly defend the mystery that is the good news— for which I am an ambassador in chains—so pray that I can bravely pronounce the truth, as I should do. Ephesians 6:19-20 (VOICE)

Stay awake, stand firm in your faith, be brave, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 (CEB)

Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight. 2 Samuel 10:12 (NIV)

Trust the Lord! Be brave and strong and trust the Lord. Psalm 27:14 (CEV)

Be strong and be brave. Don’t be afraid of those people because the Lord your God is with you. He will not fail you or leave you. Deuteronomy 31:7 (ERV)

The Lord’s angel appeared to him there and said, “The Lord is with you, brave and mighty man!” Judges 6:12 (GNT)

All you who put your hope in the Lord be strong and brave. Psalm 31:24 (ICB)
