Ranking The Spider-Man Voice Actors

Spider-Man has not only appeared prominently in film, but Peter Parker has also entertained us with his web-slinging and quips for Saturday morning or weekday afternoon television. Several voice actors have taken on the role, but I will focus on the ones who had a title role while playing the Friendly-Neighborhood Spider-Man. Each one has their merits and bring their own twist to the character. Here is how I am Ranking The Spider-Man Voice Actors:

Rino Romano

Peter Parker traveled to Counter-Earth with a cool new costume to battle the High Evolutionary while Venom and Carnage wait in the wings in Spider-Man: Unlimited.

Benjamin Valic

Disney Junior brings us Spidey And His Amazing Friends which stars Valic as Peter Parker who works with Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy to fight crime.

Robbie Daymond

A younger version of Spider-Man battles his old foes and also works with Miles Morales, Spider-Girl, and other heroes from New York City.

Paul Soles

Before anyone else donned the webs, Soles was voicing him for the 1967 cartoon. He is also the reason we have the famous Spider-Man pointing meme. The guy is a legend.

Dan Gilvezan

Gilvezan voiced Peter Parker in a cartoon reboot as well as 1981’s Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends which saw the web-head teaming up with characters like Firestar and characters like Sun-Fire (shown in the clip above) to fight powerful enemies.

Neil Patrick Harris

Loosely based on the Tobey Maguire films, Harris takes over the role for the CGI-animated Spider-Man: The New Animated Series which had a tragic end.

Josh Keaton

Taking its inspiration from the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Spectacular Spider-Man also had a young webslinger facing enemies such as Venom and the Sinister Six. He would also voice the 2099 version of the character in the video game ‘Spider-Man: Edge of Time.’

Drake Bell

No one can deny that Ultimate Spider-Man once dominated, especially when Paul Dini joined as a writer. For a time, Spider worked with Power Man, White Tiger, Iron Fist, and Nova to fight crime. Later being joined by Scarlet Spider, Agent Venom, Kid Arachnid, Iron Spider, and Spider-Girl.

Christopher Daniel Barnes

The GOAT voiced Peter Parker for Spider-Man, the 90s animated series that truly captures the mythology of the character. It is seen here when Spider-Man gets to meet his co-creator for Marvel Comics, Stan Lee.

As a bonus, here is a Marvel vignette that features Harris, Gilvezan, Keaton, and Barnes who all voiced different versions of Spider-Man in the video game ‘Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.’

Please note, I am not saying that any of those voice actors are bad, I am simply ranking them by their performance as Peter Parker on the merits. Each brings their own talent to the character of Spider-Man. Which one is your favorite?
