Robotech To Host “The New Beginning” Panel At WonderCon

Harmony Gold USA has been making the convention rounds to promote the exciting new updates for the science fiction mech franchise Robotech. This time, they are heading to Anaheim to host a panel titled “The New Beginning” at the comic book convention WonderCon.

According to their official website, “The 2022 Robotech Convention Tour kicks off at WonderCon in Anaheim, the sister show to San Diego Comic-Con this April! Join your fellow fans for the latest developments in the Robotech universe, from awesome new products to the new partnership with Funimation/Crunchyroll on Sunday April 3rd @ 11:30 A.M. in panel Room North 200B!”

Fans have been building with anticipation as Robotech continues its resurgence into pop culture. In 2019, Harmony Gold USA reached a deal with the Japanese animation studio Tatsunoko Productions to continue their partnership. They also expanded their deal with the Tokyo-based studio Bigwest Co. to expand Robotech with other Macross TV shows.

Harmony Gold USA Chairman, Frank Agrama said at the time, “This is an incomparably historic moment for both Harmony Gold and Big West and the anime industry overall. This is also an exciting moment for fans of Robotech and Macross worldwide. I thank my friend, Big West Representative Director, Kaya Onishi for her hard work to help us reach this long-desired resolution that protects both of our franchises while building a better tomorrow for both our companies.”

Robotech is a classic mech anime that combined three Tatsunoko Production shows The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA into the epic series merged and translated by Harmony Gold. There are also reports of a movie being produced by Sony Pictures.

You can now stream the anime on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
