I perused through some of the names of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What startled me more is the name of some of the bands and artists that did not make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee list. Some of them I had to double-check because I could not believe it. Many of the names are just like, “Wow, seriously?” In no particular order, here’s a list of rockstars and rock bands that did make it onto the inductee list.

Dave Matthews Band

They were nominated in 2019 but were passed over despite getting numerous votes.

Willie Nelson

The Country Rock superstar has surprisingly not been added despite his successful career.

The Marvelettes

Though mainly known for rhythm and Blues, they also gave multiple contributions to the rock genre.

Skillet

Hard rock is exactly what you are looking for and this band does not shy away from it.

Soundgarden

The group not only brings out some excellent rock music but their songs have also been featured in film and television.

Pat Benatar

Really? Seriously? Pat freakin’ Benatar??? She is a musical genius. She was nominated but did not get in.

Sting

British music sensation Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, aka Sting, has not been inducted and I think it is wrong.

Boston

I seriously had to double-check to make sure this was accurate. What idiot has denied them a spot?

P

Though short-lived, this indie rock band featured none other than Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp.

Tobymac

Shameless plug here. Honestly, though, he does deserve a spot. Every single one of his solo albums has gone gold.

REO Speedwagon

This is another one that just floors me.

Grand Funk Railroad

They helped create “hard rock,” yet, not an inductee.

Alabama

Okay, so they are more country, but if ZZ Top can make it, so can they.

Ted Nugent

He’s someone who should have been in there a long time ago. I guess also being an American patriot doesn’t help.

Bryan Adams

Why is this guy not in? His name is almost synonymous with rock and even later “soft rock.”

Stan Bush

For the song that defined a fandom, “The Touch,” Bush should be ushered in with a red carpet, flowers, and fanfare.

Glen Campbell

The man also had a movie career for crying out loud. He spread rock and country music all throughout the world.

.38 Special

Apparently, the Hall of Fame isn’t caught up in you.

 Switchfoot

The Grammy award-winning band hasn’t made the cut either.

Steppenwolf

They should be swept away on a magic carpet ride into the Hall of Fame.
