Mark Judson thinks he is making waves as a failed Democrat Party congressional candidate for North Carolina, but it is all hot air. If there is one thing these wannabe lawmakers should learn, it is stay out of pop culture topics they know nothing about.
It all started when Theodore Rex actress Whoopi Goldberg was given a two-week vacation, I mean, suspension from her co-host position at ABC The View for an anti-semitic rant about the Holocaust and doubling down on it while on The Late Show. Many commentators and media outlets were rightly pointing out the hypocrisy of ABC parent company Disney giving Whoopi pass a pass after firing Gina Carano from her role in the Star Wars show The Mandalorian. The In The Blood actress made a single post comparing how people are treating each other to 1930s Germany. It should be noted Carano did not mention the Holocaust.
Mark decided to jump into the fray, according to Bounding Into Comics, where he not only lied about the actress, who has largely stayed apolitical, but then called for the mass arrest of law-abiding citizens who do not agree with his take on the 2020 election outcome.
“Gina Carano got fired – Good! She pushed ‘The Big Lie’ – she should be in Prison – not in movies,” he said in a bizarre tweet. “If RepubliQans weren’t too lazy too read – they might Google the definition of ‘Seditious Conspiracy.’ It’s time to take out the trash.”
The Scorched Earth actress has made no such overtures, though she has posted frequently about wanting people to be free to make their own decisions. Hardly a conspiracy theorist.
I responded in kind:
Mark Judson then preceded to throw a hissy fit and then blocked me on Twitter.
This is not the first time Gina Carano has faced scrutiny from an incoherent politician. Former Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-SD) called her “nazi” on Real Time W/ Bill Maher. Of course, Carano responded with grace and understanding.
“Here we have more of the dehumanizing phase of cancel culture,” she said. “Repeat lies over and over until the population takes them as “truth”. False, disturbing & disgusting language coming from a former US Senator.” She added, “You knew as soon as you said it you were liable.”
It is sad and sickening to see former and wannabe lawmakers target people they have disagreements with by calling them disgusting names or threatening to throw them in jail. Political discourse should be higher than this, but alas, this is where we are.
Gina Carano is set to star in the Western Terror on the Prairie, the action-thriller White Knuckle, and the upcoming political drama My Son Hunter.
