Patience is a virtue. In fact, it is a Christian virtue. There are so many things to test our nerves and can make us feel like we are going to break, but having patience with our family, friends, neighbors, and with our circumstances can help us develop character. The Bible has some incredible wisdom on how to stay patient. In no particular order, here are 10 Scriptures On Patience:

“As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. James 5:10

You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 2 Timothy 3:10

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:2-3

“But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:13

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24-25

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. Psalm 37:7-9

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant… 1 Corinthians 13:4

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12
