Written by Tobymac and Micah Kuiper, the single “Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight)” hit the radio waves and was released digitally. This time, he delivers it as a live performance from his Drive-in Theater Tour 2021.
The live performance is pretty sleek. Tobymac knows how to get your attention and this show is no difference. While I won’t say it is as good as the studio version, it still shows his immense talent.
“With a deeply broken heart after losing my firstborn son and stepping almost immediately into quarantine, everything was dark,” Tobymac said according to the Christan Beat. “I woke up one day after months in the valley to the Psalms. I read that ‘God is rolling up His sleeves.’ We are not forgotten. What a beautiful image. What a beautiful promise.”
As I said about it previously, I think this one of Tobymac’s finest songs. It has a good beat, sound, and it flows really well. The overall message of the lyrics is one of hope that no matter where you are in the day, God is there and ready to come to your aid. It is uplifting and encouraging, something you can find encouragement in.
