Spider-Man NOT Teased In ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Trailer

After being delayed from its October 2020 release, the ‘Venom‘ sequel is slated to come to theaters and perhaps video-on-demand on September 24, 2021. Many fans were stirred by a rumor that Tom Holland would appear in the official trailer, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Small Screen previously reported on the rumor and while he was not in the trailer, the Sony Pictures sequel ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘ could still feature a Tom Holland appearance as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the form of a cameo in the film itself. Perhaps that will build up to a classic comic book showdown between the two enemies. If Spider-Man was to appear, definitely signals that Sony Pictures is interested in creating more Spider-Man projects to tie into their properties including Morbius and Venom. Now, there was a brief scene of a spider being smashed, but no direct reference to Peter Parker.

The Andy Serkis directed ‘Venom 2’ will feature Tom Hardy’s return as symbiote host Eddie Brock facing off against the Carnage possessed Cletus Kassidy played by Woody Harrelson. Michelle Williams will also return as Brock’s girlfriend Anne Weying, though it is not known whether She-Venom will be making another appearance.

As a longtime Peter Parker fan, I think this needs to happen. Venom, in my opinion, is Spider-Man’s greatest foe and the two of them need to have a proper battle between the two. Tom Holland and Tom Hardy bring out the best qualities and seeing them together after their respective sequels would be awesome.
