Goodbye Blue Sky! Ranking Their Animated Films | Comics, Coffee, and Cartoons

It is official. Disney has closed Blue Sky Studios, the animation film company behind such titles as Ice Age, The Peanuts Movie, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who, and Robots. This is truly the end of an era for one studio that was putting out some original content. In this video, I rank their feature film catalogue and give out some anecdotes on some of my favorite movies.

Check out the webisode below:

Wholesomeness. That is a word to describe Blue Sky Studios. Their work was not perfect, but they captured the imaginations of countless children and their families. From Sid’s desire to be heard to Snoopy’s quest to stop the Red Baron, Blue Sky and their teams brought imagination to life in a powerful way. You may not agree with how I make my list, but let me know how you make yours. Blue Sky’s features touched the hearts and minds of so many. It is a shame their legacy is going to end in such a way. I hope Disney will reconsider, but I doubt it.
