They finally did it. Cancel culture won. Walt Disney Pictures caved to a bunch of internet trolls and fired fan-favorite Star Wars actress Gina Carano, known for playing Cara Dune in The Mandalorian.
Pirates and Princesses reports that a Disney Plus spokesperson released this statement,
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
This time, the SJWs aimed their ire after she shared an image on her Instagram that had the caption,
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
For some reason, the SJW internet trolls claimed this was an “anti-semitic” comment, adding she was comparing being a Republican in Hollywood to the Holocaust atrocity. This was obviously a lie, but they spread that life so fast with a #FireGinaCarano campaign. This time, Disney caved to these internet trolls and fired her.
This prompted fans of Gina Carano and those of free thought to create the #CancelDisneyPlus campaign in an effort to let Mickey Mouse know exactly what they think about their insane decision.
All of that goodwill Disney garnered by recreating Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian season 2 was immediately flushed down the toilet. They had let hack director Rian Johnson and LucasFilm executive Kathleen Kennedy ruin Skywalker, but Jon Favreau seemingly redeemed him. Now they gambled it all away after firing Gina Carano over a bunch of internet trolls and bots who have nothing better to do than throw hissy fits when someone disagrees with them.
These so-called SJWs have been targeting Gina Carano after she refused to cave to their demands of putting “pronouns” in her Twitter profile. Later, they raged at her for liking tweets by prominent conservative activists. Disney has now given these mobs even more legitimacy by bending the knee to their ridiculous demands of cancel culture.
This also highlights the blatant unethical and hypocritical practices of Walt Disney Pictures. The film company is happy to work with the tyrannical communist government in China to produce the live-action ‘Mulan,’ but someone earns the ire of a social media mob and they call her non-existent words “abhorrent.” Disney will no doubt feel the sting of this one and their time is running out as they continue to thumb their noses at the audience.
