Skillet: ‘Dead Man Walking’ Music Review

Skillet is back in the spotlight with their new rock song “Dead Man Walking” from their album Victorious (The Aftermath), which was released through Atlantic Records.

There is one thing that no one can deny about Skillet, they do some excellent guitar work. This song is no exception. They can play any song into its rock-style with ease, making it a fun listen. The band does a good job of pulling you into the song with just the composition and dynamite instrument work.

The lyrics are also pretty good. I enjoyed them and the message about waking up against all odds. I did not find it mind-blowing, but I still thought it was catchy and memorable. They definitely know how to sow the song together, wrapping it up well. I liked the graphic art that was on the lyric video, though during the chorus a random dude’s face could be seen in the background yelling in rage. It was a little distracting.
