The Elements is the latest album from singer, poet, songwriter, and DC Talk alumnus Toby McKeehan aka Tobymac. Today, I am highlighting his song “See The Light” which he co-wrote with Sasha Hamilton, Ryan Edgar, Emma Weisberg, Dave Lubben, and Anthony Pasqualone.
The composition is catchy and has that unique style of blending techno, pop, and Gospel. Tobymac does a good job of writing catchy lyrics that are soulful, memorable, and hopeful. This particular song about coming together in tough times is just what the world needs right now in this moment. I also enjoyed how the lyric video was done. It matches the song perfectly.
Tobymac discussed the song on Facebook writing, “‘See the Light’ talks about stepping into community rather than retreating into isolation when turmoil enters our lives. It’s We instead of I, us instead of you. We need each other, we are family. It’s the last song on the record and for good reason, we go out with worship.”
