#ReleaseTheSnyderCut Wins! Zack Snyder Reveals His ‘Justice League’ Is Coming To HBO Max

300‘ director Zack Snyder revealed during a virtual watch party for the director’s cut of Man of Steel‘ that the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut wishes will be granted when his cut of ‘Justice League‘ will be released through the HBO Max streaming service.

Deadline reports that it will be released sometime in 2021.

Follow Snyder stepping away from directorial duties after a personal tragedy, Marvel’s The Avengers director Joss Whedon, who was set to direct a Batgirl adaption, was approached by Warner Bros. executives to recut the film to make less dark after criticism of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since its 2017 release, fans of Snyder have been demanding the release of the “Snyder Cut” with several actors, including Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, who played Batman and Wonder Woman respectively.

I have long been a critic of Zack Snyder’s work, seeing his filmmaking techniques as smoke and mirrors, but lacking substance or storytelling value. His take on Superman is only saved by the acting skills of Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Otherwise, the movie makes no sense logically. Same with Batman v. Superman, particularly the theatrical release, but the director’s cut is not much better. It offers very little to no motivations for the characters other than they are all angsty.

Considering all of this, I am looking forward to the Snyder Cut and I am glad we can finally prove it is not as good as his fanboys think. Now, I am not saying Whedon’s version will be better when compared, but I doubt a guy who had two grown men crying about their mothers and hugging it out will offer anything more substantive. I have often said that when it came to this mythical cut, that Snyder needed to put up or shut up. He put up, so now we’ll wait and see.
