Film and television actor Antonio Sabáto Jr. announced on social media that he is writing and directing a new Western feature, which he will also star in along with an ensemble cast of talented performers.
Cast member Kaya Jones described the film as “a true Spaghetti Western.”
According to the film’s synopsis,
A band of brothers who were once bank robbers, thieves, and killers of the West decide to fulfill their father’s dying wish of abandoning their life of crime and pursuing the path of the holy. They hide away for good in Kings Peak Mountains of Utah to become what are known as the faithful ones.
It adds that the plot will take place in a fictional city and involves an evil half-brother Clinton returning to get revenge on his reformed kin by kidnapping their sister and forcing them into a deadly showdown.
The cast is set to feature fan favorites like Dean Cain (FBI Lovebirds), Stacey Dash (Dysfunctional Friends), singer Kaya Jones, Kevin Sorbo (God’s Not Dead), Scott Baio (Cursed), Kristy Swanson (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Stephen Baldwin (The Flyboys), Lorenzo Lamas (The Muse), along with veteran actor Robert Wagner (Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story). That’s just naming a few of the all-star cast.
Of course, writer-director-star Antonio Sabáto Jr. has appeared in several films including Testosterone as well as made appearances on hit shows like Ally McBeal, NCIS, The Help, and Charmed. He made his directorial debut with the revenge thriller Intikam.
No release date has been set, but Sabáto told fans on Twitter that the movie has entered pre-production, which could mean “Trail Blazers” could begin filming soon.
