“In Christ Alone” is a modern Christian hymn composed in 2001 with music by Keith Getty and music by Stuart Townend. It is one of the widely covered songs in Gospel music today. Celtic Worship pays homage to the song with a rendition of their own.
Originally released in 2018, the song was released on their debut album ‘Homeward‘ and it is incredibly moving. Lead singer Steph Macleod drives home the graceful lyrics of the song. Likewise, the accompanying band is amazing as they play ‘In Christ Alone’ together. It was originally written with an Irish melody and their voices, musical instruments impressively drive home this celebration of Christ’s love for humanity. I especially enjoyed Mhairi Marwick on the fiddle. It added an extra edge to the song that really made this version unique.
