Anthem Lights members Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, Joey Stamper, and Spencer Kane return to their roots of doing musical covers for some of your favorite songs. This time they cover Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”
Normally, the guys do a soft pop or soft rock version of the song they are covering. This time, Anthem Lights decides to do an all-vocal version, giving it a softer feel that fleshes it out. I have to say, I was not sure how I would like this. I am a fan of a cappella bands. Pentatonix and Home Free are my favorites, but Anthem Lights do a good job with their version. It really highlights their vocal range and talent. The music video is very minimalist like a few of their others. It is simply them standing in a circle, each performing their section of the song. Its lack of grandiose matches the vibe I suspect they were going for.
