Kalley Heiligenthal aka kalley, brings us her first single “Oasis” from her upcoming album Faultlines produced by Bethel Music. The song, according to the YouTube description, “No matter how dry or endless the wasteland around us, we have direct access to a wellspring of life living inside—Jesus Christ, the hope of glory.”
This is what the artists of Bethel Music have a passion for and it truly shows. They bring songs that go against the grain of ordinary praise and worship, bringing a tide of original content. “Oasis” is one of these songs. It is a fantastic tribute to how God gives us rest when we are weary and loaded with burdens. In the middle of the desert, Christ is always there to give us water of life and this song definitely goes that route.
I will admit, I did find the music video a bit odd. While the background was perfect for the song, it did have some weird angles and sometimes even flipped the camera for an upside-down shot. I found that a bit unusual, but it did not take away from the excellence of the song.
