In Detective Comics volume five, a fan-favorite character returns from his long absence. Written by James Tynion IV and Christopher Sebala with art from Eddy Barrows, Alvaro Martinez, and Carmen Carnero.
Tim Drake has been trapped in a bizarre interdimensional prison since the events Rise of The Batmen. However, after he encounters a brutal version of himself who has become Batman, but a murderous one who rules Gotham City with an iron fist. Future Drake wants to escape to the past to kill Batwoman. Though Tim tries to stop him, Future Drake manages to get to the past. Tim rallies the Batman family including Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin, Orphan, Clayface, and several others to stop the Future Drake from creating a new future.
Tim Drake is truly the best Robin. Dick Grayson is stellar as Nightwing. Jason Todd is awesome as Red Hood. Damian Wayne is well a Robin, but seeing Drake as Red Robin and having him return to the forefront of the story-arc. Tynion is really excellent at writing these kinds of stories and the artwork is incredible.
There is a subplot involving Spoiler and Anarky that is absolutely pointless and boring, but the main story-arc is a Batman adventure not to miss.
