Bethel Music is known for mixing genres to bring some out-of-the-box worship music that every Christian can enjoy. They perform ballads, pop, rock, and with “Aint No Grave,” they enter into the world Country and Southern Rock.
Featured on the Victory album, it is written by Jonathan David Helser, Melissa Helser, and Molly Skaggs (who also performs the song). It’s driving beat and unique sound harken back to the days of County music, but with a “praise God” twist. The lyrics dramatically and powerfully tell the story of how Christ defeated the death, hell, and the grave. It reminds us that shame and fear are liars and tools of the enemy that we can overcome with the power of God’s love. In a world that seems to be speeding ahead with no sign of slowing down, it is good to hear a message of hope.

I like the song, but personally I think it leans too much on the Johnny Cash version. Makes it sound more like a cover than anything. I would’ve like to see them add some more of their sound to it.
