Conservative talk radio just got a little smaller with the passing of popular host Doc Thompson. According to TheBlaze (his former employer), He passed away on Tuesday, January 5th, 2019 after an accident involving an Amtrack train in Haltom City, Texas.
Doc Thompson was the host of “Doc Thompson’s Daily MoJo 5.0” radio program, which would also stream live to Twitter. He had previously hosted “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson.” He was known for his wit, sharp analysis, and for not shying away from his faith.
Born and raised in Ohio, he is survived by his wife, Yuna, and three children, Tiger, Cubby, and Wythe. A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with funeral arrangements and other expenses. His family lives in Arkansas, but he would commute every day to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for his radio program.
On a personal note, I listened to “The Morning Blaze” every morning while getting ready for work. Had my schedule not changed, I’d be still listening to his program. While I did not know him personally, we communicated briefly electronically. My impression of him was that he was friendly, smart, and an all around good guy. He will be sorely missed.
