StudioJake: The Oscars Part 1 With Elisha Krauss

This past weekend, the amazing Elisha Krauss joined StudioJake to discuss the upcoming Academy Awards. It was a great start to this epic series. We primarily talk about the Best Picture and Best Director nominees, and what was missing.

Check it out below:

As a reminder:

Best Picture:

  • “Call Me by Your Name”
  • “Darkest Hour”
  • “Dunkirk”
  • “Get Out”
  • “Lady Bird”
  • “Phantom Thread”
  • “The Post”
  • “The Shape of Water”
  • “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”

Best Director:

  • “Dunkirk,” Christopher Nolan
  • “Get Out,” Jordan Peele
  • “Lady Bird,” Greta Gerwig
  • “Phantom Thread,” Paul Thomas Anderson
  • “The Shape of Water,” Guillermo del Toro

Elisha and I talk about the nominees and what they actually bring to the table. She predicts that “Get Out” will take home Best Picture and “Lady Bird” director Greta Gerwig will take home her Oscar. I predicted that. I predict “Call Me By Your Name” will win Best Picture while Guillermo del Toro will win for his pro-bestiality film “The Shape Of Water.” Which do you think will win?

Also, will the Oscars really be apolitical? Doubt it.

What do you think? How do you think the Oscars will go? Any of the thoughts on what I talked about? Let me know in the comments below. While you are at it, check out the story of political evolution. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more posts like this one.
