Looking for some good documentaries to explore history, political science, pop culture, or something else? This year was full of some amazing feature films that covered several amazing topics. I enjoyed several. This is my list of top documentaries to come out in 2017.

10. Banking On Bitcoin– The battle for crypto-currency is at the heart of the bitcoin debate. This film follows the founding and the the battles for recognition.

09. One Of Us– This is a deep dive in the lives of three Hasidic Jews who left their faith and community among tragedy.

08. A Tale of Two Sisters– We all know the story of Jackie Kennedy Onassis and her tumultuous marriage to President John F. Kennedy. The Kennedys steal the headlines, but what about Jackie’s family? We get a sneak peak at the life of her sister Lee.

07. My Scientology Movie– While not as interesting as Scientology And The Aftermath, this movie follows Louis Theroux as he explores the religion.

06. Jerry Before Seinfeld– Mixing comedy with real life stories, the famous comedian and sitcom star tells stories about growing up in New York and gaining notoriety.

05. Casting JonBenet– The mysterious murder of JonBenet Ramsey has transfixed America. This documentary looks at how one murder can rock a whole nation.

04. Long Shot– A man is falsely accused of murder by an overzealous prosecutor. How can comedian and sitcom star Larry David save his life?

03. Icarus– Filmmaker Bryan Fogel documents the doping scandal around Russia during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

02. Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond– What bizarre events took place while Jim Carrey was making the Andy Kaufman biopic Man On The Moon?

01. Batman And Bill– Sure, Bob Kane conceptualized Batman, the DC Comics hero, but who was Bill Finger? He was the unsung creator who wrote many stories, created Gotham City, and even sketched the Dark Knight’s first costume.
