Lindsey Stirling is one of my all time favorite music artist on YouTube. Her cover of the Selena Gomez and Kygo song It Ain’t Me is spot on. She is currently starring on this season of Dancing With The Stars. Stirling’s newest album Brave Enough features the inspiring songs Lost Girls and Forgotten City. Today, I’m reviewing her latest single Mirage.
This song takes its inspiration from Indian culture. It blends Stirling’s signature violin playing with an excellent orchestra full of instruments that she does not always utilize. This gives it a unique mix of sound and musical drama that makes it fun and easy on the ears. Stirling’s talent has only grown in recent months. Her unique blend of instrumental, techno, classical, and sound effects make this song in particular a musical treat to listen to and enjoy.
As for the music video, it is engaging and visually stunning. Lindsey Stirling does her usual combination of playing her instrument and engaging in acrobatic, well choreographed dance moves while she is performing. This is one thing I appreciate about her style. It is done to a simple, yet interesting back-drop with a group of dancers who are perfectly in-sync with every step that Stirling takes. While some modern singers go for shock or flash, Stirling likes to keep it stunning and engaging. While it is not my favorite of her music videos, I did think that her unique brand flowed well with the direction she took for this particular song.
