Music Review- Home Free covers Blue Ain’t Your Color

Keith Urban brought us Blue Ain’t Your Color, a song about a girl who is dating a jerk. The all-vocal band Home Free, which previously covered “Colder Weather,” gives us a cover that is just as focused on doing the right thing.

The song originally appeared on Urban’s 2016 album Ripcord after a release as a single. The song won CMA Award for Single of the Year and the American Music Award for Favorite Country Song in 2017. It was written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey, and Clint Lagerberg. It was number one on the US Hot Country Songs chart for twelve weeks straight.

The way they cover the song is very impressive. Their voices blend well to bring us a great tribute to the Keith Urban hit. According to their website, it is one of the most versatile songs they have ever done. I believe it. The choreography in the music video is top-notch and really helps the song flow. They dance to the song in a well-organized formation. Of course, it was not as good as the original, but it definitely was a good homage. They did a good job of bringing out the good places, the sound, and the message of the song.
