Movie Review- Priceless (2016)

Priceless is a faith-based film taking a look at a very hard to swallow subject: human trafficking. It is written by Chris Dowling and Tyler Poelle and directed by Ben Smallbone. It is made with the Christian band for King and Country and stars Joel Smallbone, Bianca A. Santos, Amber Midthunder, David Koechner, Sarah Minnich, Jodi Lynn Thomas, Sierra Rose Smith, and a handful of others.

James Stevens is a man who has lost everything. After the death of his wife, he got into trouble and had to give up his daughter. A friend gives him some money and tells him to drive a large shipping truck across the state.

After he gets run off the road, he discovers that his cargo are two sisters from Mexico, Antonia and Maria. He brings them to their destination and while they think they are getting jobs, they discover they have been sold into prostitution.

At first, James does nothing, but a hotel owner named Dale convinces him to fight for Antonia. He goes on a mission not only to save her and her sister, but also to redeem himself.

This is truly an inspiring film. The story is told brilliantly and the acting is very believable. My only complaint is that the film does not give enough in the way of backstory. It is just brushed over, but was told in a way where you know what is going on.

The emotion behind the movie, you feel it all the way through until the end. It is a story that needs to be told. It is a story that could about anyone you care about.
