#amreading – Twelve Books Every College Kid Should Read

There have been several book list for Millennial college kids that are floating along on the internet. Many of them have a very left-wing perspective. I decided to do my own list of books based on my own experience. Here are twelve books every college kid should read.

  1. Winning With People by John Maxwell– Usually, Maxwell’s books focus on leadership, but this one specifically deals with the subject of team work. It talks about working with co-workers and partners.
  2. Crucial Conversation by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMilan, and Al Switzler– This book helps you develop quality communication skills. It discusses how to talk with people in a job and outside.
  3. Crucial Conversation by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMilan, and Al Switzler– This book gives you the skill to hold people accountable properly without hurting feelings.
  4. The Politically Incorrect Guide To Western Civilization by Anthony M. Esolen– There are those who have misplaced anger toward Western culture. This book breaks down the criticism and debunks it.
  5. Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain– The author breaks down the power and ability of some of our most underappreciated people in society. My wife recommends this one.
  6. A Patriot’s History of the United States: From Columbus’s Great Discovery to the War on Terror by Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen– This book shows the good that America has done in its lifetime as a nation.
  7. Race And Economics by Thomas Sowell– No one has a better understanding of race in America and impact better than Dr. Sowell. This book discusses how race has impacted certain communities, but especially the African-American community.
  8. What’s Race Got to Do with It? : Why It’s Time to Stop the Stupidest Argument in America by Larry Elder– He breaks down the cries of racism in a rational way and proposes how to fix it.
  9. The War Against Boys by Christina Hoff Sommers– Dr. Sommers is an “equity feminist” who explains how feminism is harming young males. It is a very interesting read to hear and here her perspective.
  10. Dreamers and Deceivers by Glenn Beck– I previously recommended this one. It tells the story of such great inventors like Walt Disney and Desi Arnaz while also telling about great tricksters like Charles Ponzi and Upton Sinclair.
  11. Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman– It is a collection of articles and essays that the great economist wrote during his lifetime covering capitalism, economics, and the free market.
  12. Signature in the Cell: DNA and the Evidence for Intelligent Design by Stephen C. Meyer– This book breaks down the flaws in the evolutionary theory, specifically chemical evolution. He proposes intelligent design.

That is my list. What do you think? Like, share, and subscribe for more book articles. Comment below if you have an addition.
