Just Imagine Fight(s) is back with a brand new fight. What is it you ask? These are battles between characters from across the nerd spectrum. None of them are traditional, but seriously epic. The contestants can be from anywhere or any platform. Comic books, Saturday morning cartoons, anime. video games… it is all up for grabs. Normally these characters would never duel, but on this blog, they will meet to challenge each other. This is how it works. I calculate the advantages and disadvantages of each fighter, utilizing their skill, experience, and the equipment they have on their person. After that, I determine who would win based on their stats, giving you an explanation afterwards.
Spider-Gwen is our first contestant. In an alternate reality, Peter Parker’s girlfriend Gwen Stacy is bitten by a radioactive spider instead. This Spider-Verse continuity saw her be introduced in the pages of Spider-Man. She has all of of Spidey’s powers and an epic costume to boot. Facing against her is Cassandra Cain, aka The Orphan. She is adopted by Batman after rejecting the path of her assassin parents. She chooses to protect Gotham City as a member of Bruce Wayne’s team. Pre-New 52, she took the mantle of Batgirl for a time.
Spider-Gwen of Earth 65:
Advantages– Super human strength, speed, ability, and spider-sense
Disadvantages– Limited capabilities, not invulnerable
The Orphan, the superhero formally known as Batgirl:
Advantages– Expertly trained in the Martial Arts, can read an opponents moves, and even knows how to kill an opponent, though she chooses not to.
Disadvantages– No superhuman abilities
The Winner: The Orphan
You might be thinking that I chose the Orphan due to my love of all things Batman. That is not the case. Cassandra Cain has on several occasions bested opponents who seriously outmatched her strength-wise, thanks to skill alone. She even defeated Supergirl at one point. While Spider-Gwen would start off winning the battle, The Orphan would quickly learn her abilities and be able to discern her weaknesses, leading to a defeat.

This article has been updated from a previous version which mentioned Cassandra Cain as Batgirl.

As they stand in the rain, Cassandra no longer wants to follow her evil father’s path and the Dark Knight embraces the young woman, telling her, “You’ll always have a real family as long as I’m around.” From there, he trains her to become the next Batgirl and later she becomes known as the Orphan.
