Classic Film Review- Breakfast At Tiffany’s

Breakfast at Tiffanys

Blake Edwards was a master of comedy and also of drama. He gave us this iconic American film Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Starring the brilliant actress Audrey Hepburn.

The movie tells the story of call girl Holly Golightly and her friendship with fellow tenant Paul Varjak. At first, Paul is suspicious of Holly’s sweet nature and adventurous spirit, but they soon bond.

During their friendship, Holly tells Paul how she is saving money for he brother when he gets out of the army. Paul tells Holly that he is a writer, but has not written a book in nine years. Through several adventures, the two of them grow closer and closer until a dramatic conclusion.

With the exception of Mickey Rooney’s very racist depiction of Asian-Americans, this film was good. It was a very interesting story that is interwoven with various plots. It had me laughing, tearing up, and cheering along with the story of Holly and Paul, Blake Edwards, responsible for original The Pink Panther film series, does an excellent job telling and expanding Truman Capote’s classic novella.
