Movie Review- The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie tells the story of a very common Lego man named Emmit, who is just ordinary. However, after he meets a Lego woman named Wild Style (who is dating Batman) Emmit is told he is The Special, a Lego Master Builder chosen to free all of the Lego Universes from Lord Business who wants to use the Kragle (Crazy Glue) to form a perfect world. As time runs out, Emmit teams with Batman, Wildstyle, an Astronaut, a Unikitty, and a pirate named Metal Beard. They all must find the imagination that is implanted deeply in their psyches to overcome the villain and his henchmen.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, this movie got mixed recommendations from my friends. You either really LOVED it or you really HATED it. I honestly loved it. Sometimes, the dialogue was cheesy and sometimes the things the Lego characters were confusing, not to mention the obvious attack on the USA’s business world. That being said, it was one of the most imaginative and creative movies I have ever seen. Some called the best animated CGI movie of all time, while I would not go that far, it definitely was amazing especially with the All-Star cast. It teaches viewers that everyone has a creative and unique edge that we can use as individuals or as a team. I highly recommend it!
