Top 5 Charles Dickens Novels

Charles Dickens is one of the greatest authors and novelists of the Victorian era. His stories shined a light on morality, history, and the drama of the nineteenth century. While my friends were reading Captain Underpants, I was enjoying the thrilling tales of the Dickensian world. His writings definitely inspired my own writing style.

This is a list of my top 5 favorite Charles Dickens novels.

5. A Christmas Carol- Ebenezer Scrooge gets visited by three spirits who explain the true meaning of Christmas the cold, cruel man.

4. Bleak House- The plot revolves around a long-running legal case involving conflicting wills. The story satirizes the Victorian judicial system, which led to many reforms.

3. Great Expectations- The first person account of Pip, a young orphan boy who meets a parade of colorful characters. Each one begins to affect his life in various ways.

2. A Tale Of Two Cities- France is embroiled in revolution. A wrongfully accused man is released from prison. He leaves Paris for London where his life affects his daughter.

1. David Copperfield Originally a serial in a local British newspaper, it later became his favorite novel. It tells the story of a young man thrust into a journey to find his family after the death of his mother.

If you would like to order your paperback copy of my debut novel Cacophony: A Tale Of Faith And Fear, click here. It is an incredible paranormal thriller about a group of demons trying to steal human souls by assaulting their church. The Messenger Gabriel, a Guardian angel Christopher, and the Seven Archangels are sent by God to stop them. It’s a tale that mixes drama, supernatural fiction, with a dash of fantasy.
